manufactured in India

The weave

Broken Twill
Hoppediz® uses the broken twill weave for their slings since June 2004. This gives optimal stretchability in both diagonal directions. The yarn-dyed, long-piled cotton is twined in both warp and weft.

The shape

Hoppediz® slings are shaped as a parallelogram, so the cloth ends are easier to tie knots with, since they are not so thick and podgy.

Easier tying

ALL Hoppediz® models have differently coloured selvedges (1). This helps finding the edges when pulling tight. The single-coloured slings have colour-coordinated selvedges.
The centre of the cloth is marked in a contrasting colour (2). For many tying methods you need the centre to start with. With sometimes up to 5 meters of cloth length it iwould be quite difficult finding the centre without the marker.
Several of the Hoppediz-models indicate also the longitudinal centre (3). This is very helpful for some tying methods, e.g. simple or double cross-carry.

Best tying instruction

Eleven tying methods are explained step by step on 60 well-illustrated pages with real photos. The instructions are based on the contents of teaching of the Trageschule® (www.trageschule-dresden.de). Annette and Ingo Schröder, the Hoppediz company owners, are both certified carrying instructors of the Trageschule®, and work closely with the Trageschule®.

Fair trade

Hoppediz® slings are produced in India under socially responsible and environmental-friendly conditions. This way traditional craftwork is supported, and jobs secured. Of course the slings are manufactured without child labor.
