The advantages of the new special model "Marsupi PLUS": an extra wide bridge between the baby's legs (approx. 5 cm wider than with the former model). This way, your child can be placed in the anatomically correct "frog position" - like in a sling. No more dangling legs, no more forced hollow-back. Now you can carry your child without any concerns right from the beginning!
The special features, the Marsupi always had: You can put it on very quickly. Thanks to the simple and sturdy velcro closure everybody is able to put on the Marsupi so quickly: Close the hip belt, place the child in front of you, pull up the main part of the Marsupi over the baby's back, put one shoulder strap over each shoulder, cross them on your back, and fasten them with the velcro in front of you. No tying knots, no buckles, no fussing. Tried and tested by dads and those, who have difficulties with slings! (And discovered by sling-lovers as quickly-to-use-alternative for outings...)
Like in a sling, in the Marsupi Plus your baby is lying skin to skin on your body without disturbing fabric between you. The supporting fabric is lying on the back of your child, and the shoulder straps pull your child close to your body.
The velcros on the baby's back are wide enough, so you can fasten and adjust the shoulder straps as desired. Your baby feels wrapped and secure.
The sewn on head rest can be fastened to the shoulder straps to provide an all around head support for your baby. This way, even newborns (and sleeping children) can be carried in the Marsupi PLUS. When the head rest is not needed, it folds down outwards and provides a soft neck rest for your baby...The baby's weight is distributed to the waist/hip belt and the wide shoulder straps, that are crossed on the back.
Can be used as front carrier and as hip carrier!
Can be used also as back carrier, but only with an additional person, who can help with putting on and off. You cannot close the velcros on your back by yourself!
For the first months
In theory, the Marsupi Plus can be used (and is tested) for babys up to approx. 20kg. In practice it is comfortable in the first 6 months/up to approx. 8 kg (delivery with reducer, to narrow the part between the baby's legs)...
We suggest: Use the Marsupi Plus in the beginning and then switch to the Patapum Baby Carrier or Sutemi Pack, when your child is big enough.
Contrary to the manufacturer's suggestion, we recommend not to carry the baby with his face looking out! (Please read the anti-looking-out-carry-flyer)

The size of the Marsupi has to be chosen considering waist measurement, body hight (and possibly bust size and shoulder width) of the carrying (grown up) person. Please take measurements with outerwear/thick top, if you want to carry also in winter!
If you have a shorter upper body and/or are planning to carry you child longer than 9 months (although we do not recommend this with the Marsupi Plus), please measure also your hip girth. When your baby is growing longer, you will carry the Marsupi lower, and wrap it under the small part of your waist.
The sizes overlap generously, waist belt as well as shoulder straps are adjustable. For your security (TÜV report, Technical Inspection Agency) an overlap of 12 cm of the velcros is provided and considered in the sizes!
If only one person will carry the baby, choose the smaller size, that is comfortable for you - this way you avoid overlaying straps!
If both parents (or grandparents/babysitters) want to carry the child, consider the specifications of the size table. When the sizes differ very much, you should choose two different sizes. Only this way you can guarantee stability and security for your child. (In this situation ask for a partner discount)
It is as easy as this:
1. Pull the hip belt tight. Place your baby against your body and pull up the fabric between your baby's legs, while holding him with one hand.
2. Pull one shoulder strap with the other hand (one hand is still holding the baby) over your shoulder, across your back, and fix it on the velcro on the front. Let it overlap at least 10 cm.
3. Check the baby's position. The straps have to be pulled tight, so the baby is very close to your body.
4. Pull the second strap over your second shoulder, while still holding the baby with one hand.
5. The straps are correct, when they cross over the baby's back.
6. When your baby is not able to hold his head by himself, you have to support it by fastening the headrest to the shoulder straps.
